Massart Auctioneers changes ownership

Massart Auctioneers, Inc changed ownership recently when Damien & Michelle Massart bought the company from Damien’s father Bob Massart. Bob is still a part of the business and is important to the success of our company. Since our inception in 1974 we have been leaders in the auction industry. We understand that to be successful you have to keep up with the times and adapt to and embrace new technology.

After reviewing our historical data and recent trends in the auction business, we have found that online auctions offer several advantages over our live auction format. Online auctions attract more bidders and increased attendance results in increased sales which is critical for those clients looking to sell their items at top dollar in a competitive market. Several of our customers are bringing us items to sell and requesting the online format for their items. Although the online format requires extensive set up to include bar coding, photography and building of a catalog the workload is less and offers us and our employees more flexibility in our work schedules allowing more time with our families.

We plan on conducting live auctions when requested by our customers or when we deem necessary & to focus more on conducting online auctions.

Going forward we plan on having an online auction at our auction facility every week. We will also be conducting many offsite auctions online as well. January was a very busy & successful month with seven online auctions. February seems to be very busy as well with seven auctions scheduled.
